The guidelines for Virginia’s unified measurement and improvement system received a second endorsement from the Early Childhood Advisory Committee in May and will be presented to the Board of Education on June 17th, for final review.
With the launch of Practice Year 1, the Unified Measurement and Improvement System will also have a new official name; The Unified Virginia Quality Birth to Five System. We will abbreviate the name as VQB5. This name builds on and celebrates Virginia’s long standing commitment to measuring and supporting quality improvement across early education settings and acknowledges the critical role the federal Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five (PDG B-5) has had in unifying the Commonwealth’s approach.
