The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Initiative is excited to announce that registration is open for our summer series of the Infant Mental Health and Attachment Course, a unique professional development opportunity for professionals working with young children, birth to age six, and their families in Virginia! Infant Mental Health principles focus on attachment, family systems, family-centered practices, and trauma-informed approaches. They guide us to think about babies, toddlers and preschoolers as they exist within the context of their culture, communities and their relationships. They help us understand the critical role relationships and a secure attachment play in a child’s overall development, school readiness, and success in later life. This course is designed to dig deeper into attachment and share practical applications and specific strategies that can be applied and used in your everyday work with young children and families. Summer registration is open, and fall dates will be added soon! Contact Jackie Robinson for additional information at robinsonjb3@vcu.edu.
