Outcome/Goal 1: Create a network of PD Providers in the Eastern region.
Who are the early childhood PD providers? How will we communicate with each other and find out who is doing what, when? Do we need a memorandum of understanding/agreement (MOU/MOA) between program(s) or agencies? Are any in place now?
Outcome/Goal 2: To provide quality PD (pre-service and in-service) in order to recruit, maintain and sustain an ECE workforce.
What are all of our PD standards & competences, course of studies, what is guiding all of our PD?
Outcome/Goal 3: To identify gaps and avoid duplication of the professional development in the Eastern region.
What do the results of our regional PD Matrix tell us? Who is doing what well and who can expand their content to address identified need(s), where are there gaps? Will MOU/MOAs be useful in these circumstances?
Outcome/Goals 4: PD providers are well prepared to provide evidence based PD in the Eastern region.
Ensuring that our PD providers provide training that reflects best practice, including but not limited to, current brain research, adult learning strategies, interactive and rich in real life experiences, research and evidence-base practices.
Outcome/Goal 5: Establish ways to ensure continuous quality improvement.
How do we know we’ve improved the quality, standard(s), and competencies of programs/individuals? How can we embed a process for continuous quality improvement/evaluation and accountability into what we plan and do?
Outcome/Goal 6: Use of technology to provide quality PD.
What types of technology or platforms can be used to support the best use of technology and distance learning within our region, across the state? Can we use Central locations i.e., community college, Community Service Board (CSB) office, Smart Beginnings office, etc. How can we make the best use of individual laptops, iPads, tablets, social media etc.?
